- Hoje estou quase tão bom como ontem: ainda afónico. #
- If it works, awesome! RT @catarino: How to tune out the vuvuzela buzz on a Samsung TV. http://twitpic.com/1vwlun by @cliff #
- @catarino Those EQ settings @cliff mentioned are fairly simple to implement in any recent TV. ANd broadcasters could use them as well. in reply to catarino #
- The main problem, as I see it, is that our ear is optimized to the 300Hz region, where human speech occurs @catarino @cliff #
- What you’re doing, in fact (I mean theory, since I haven’t tested it) is lower the center of our earing percepetion curve. @catarino @cliff #
- With a EQ decrease around 300Hz, even compensating on the lower 100Hz, you’ll hear less of everything, right? @catarino @cliff #
- Using EQ settings to lower the Vuvuzela buzz is quite a challenge… should I write a blog post explaining why? @catarino @cliff #
- Vuvuzelas: não há nada que possamos fazer? http://ff.im/-m1hsR #
- Blog post written on Vuvuzela filtering (pt only, for now): http://ff.im/-m1hsR @catarino @cliff @VuvuzelaFilter #
- Estou baralhado. A Optimus já tinha HTC e LG com Android. Qual é a diferença para este Boston?… re: http://ff.im/m1hXw #
- @d3x7r0 Ok. Não tinha percebido. Mas é um modelo que vai ser distribuído noutros países também, não? in reply to d3x7r0 #
- Is it readable? RT @VuvuzelaFilter: english translation http://bit.ly/cF39j0 Vuvuzela filtering (pt only, for now): http://ff.im/-m1hsR #
- Hums and hisses are easier to filter out. Buzzes, like the Vuvuzela, are much harder. pt: http://ff.im/-m1hsR en: http://bit.ly/cF39j0 #
- @VuvuzelaFilter I hope it makes sense, too. I’ll try to have an in-depth audio analysis and try out some noise reduction algorithms. in reply to VuvuzelaFilter #

- @Cliff already did, with mention, of course: http://bit.ly/cF39j0 in reply to Cliff #
- They found me. RT @catarino: follow @VuvuzelaFilter (great find by @joaopsmartins) #
- Psycho-acoustic filtering. 😉 RT @Cliff: @joaopsmartins your ear strains for the speech a little -> makes the brain tune out the buzz easier #
- This Vuvuzela Filter works and it’s easy to implement, depending on the commentators’ voice: http://bit.ly/dv65uY (via @VuvuzelaFilter ) #
- Real solution: EQ and NR, of course. RT @VuvuzelaFilter: Testing @prosoniq filtering http://bit.ly/dBVyCv http://bit.ly/9FYCni works great! #
- @prosoniq released a free real-time Vuvuzela Filter plugin for Mac (Audio Unit): Vuvux http://bit.ly/bjyaXP (via @VuvuzelaFilter ) #
- I’ve edited my blog post about Vuvuzela Filters: http://bit.ly/brxn0i . Now with reference to @VuvuzelaFilter and @prosoniq ‘s Vuvux. #
- Vuvuzela Filtering with Linux (even easier): http://bit.ly/brxn0i That’s edit 2 of this article. This seems great: http://bit.ly/9qllDX #
- Later today I’ll experiment with a PureData patch with the same EQ settings as these recent examples. @VuvuzelaFilter #puredata #
- It would be perfect to have a #puredata patch that would analyse in real time a buzz sample and then EQ’it out from there. @VuvuzelaFilter #
- A #puredata patch to act as a @VuvuzelaFilter would be cross-platform, free, and open-source. 😉 Anyone in? #
- Wonders of open source. Just have an idea and someone will develop. 😉 RT @ricardolameiro: @vuvuzelafilter #puredata http://ur1.ca/07jv8 #
- @ricardolameiro I haven’t tested it yet, but thanks. 😉 #puredata @VuvuzelaFilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro I was thinking about building something with a [fiddle~] and a [snapshot~] to adjust in real time #puredata @VuvuzelaFilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro [fiddle~] does that for you. You Specify the number of partials and you can even filter out enarmonic ones 😉 in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro fiddle identifies them and then you can set them to the notch values, as you did, manually. in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro I’m currently looking at the noisegate example on #puredata and thinking “would this do the trick”? #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro the noisegate as it is, wouldn’t work, but with simple wet/dry command… it’s only a soccer game, isn’t it? #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- Can anyone tell me if he #worldcup #it vs. #pa game is a good example of #vuvuzela nuisance? I’ve made a 2 min. recording to use as test. #
- @ricardolameiro using fiddle, it can be auto off and bang on a #vuvuzela “solo”. 😉 Then, it’s notch and biquad. #puredata #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro similar to the “set mask” on the denoiser example. I’ll try both approaches soon #puredata #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @d3x7r0 exactly what I thought: the vuvuzela buzz didn’t seem to be as loud as in previous games. Are they using the @VuvuzelaFilter ideas? in reply to d3x7r0 #
- @ricardolameiro Although Vuvuzelas have a fixed pitch, the overall buzz can have variations, I think. The adaptative patch is more flexible. in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro You cheated on your test: the audio file was only Vuvuzelas’ buzz. Do voices get through your #vuvuzelafilter? in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro Where’s the spirit? We should offer an open source cross-platform #puredata #vuvuzelafilter of top quality! in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro I’ve made a recording during today’s broadcast of #it vs #pa , but it seems the transmission already had some filters. in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro The filter and/or ducking used by TV today is one more reason to have a flexible patch. 😉 #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro Are you questioning my spirit? You know where my spirit is: I always have these ideas and not enough time to implement. 😉 in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro I’m getting ready for all the testing and patching in a few minutes. #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro As far as I’m concerned and my #puredata skills can go, Vuvuzelas will be “optional” as of tomorrow #vuvuzelafilter in reply to ricardolameiro #
- @ricardolameiro check DMs in reply to ricardolameiro #
